Welcome to the awesome guide to how to create your character. This is a step by step guide on how to get them going and will likely answer a lot of questions you have. So here we go!
PRELIMINARIES
001 | The first thing that you need to do is choose your species. While we allow all species on the site, there are only eight overall species that you can choose from without buying them from the shop. All subspecies of the overall species are excepted (unless noted) and keep in mind that short coated animals will not do well in the Tundra. The list of allowed species can be found here.
002 | This is also a good time to figure out if you want any mutations on your character. We don't limit what you have or how much, just keep in mind that "god mod" items are not allowed. This includes deadly poisons, contagious rotting, the ability to fully fly with wings and other things of that nature.
BIO SECTION ONE
001 | After getting the code and starting your own thread (the title should be Your Character's Name - Their Species, or something to that degree) you get started on writing it. The first thing is an image. I will accepted all sizes with a max width of 500, but if you don't want an image, please take the tags out.
002 | This section is pretty easy. The real curve ball here is what is called the moral alignment. While you're probably thinking "good, evil, neutral", you're half right. We get a little deeper than that with the 9 moral alignments. If you're not sure what they are, go ahead and Check this page out. If you're still not sure after that, come ask Riley or one of the other staff members. Remember, Most species reach maturity at 2 years old and horses do it at 3.
BIO SECTION TWO
001 | The next section is all about appearances. First up are you eye and coat color. We accept ALL coat and eye colors, including fun ones like red, orange, etc. Please remember that if you have bi-colored eye (two eyes that are different colors) to mark it down in mutation because that's something we need o know about to possibly pass down to any future generations.
002 | Your markings are a special matter. Not all character have funny markings, but many do and we want to know about those. If you don't feel like writing it out and have an image that shows it fully off, go ahead and link it.
003 | Ahhhh mutations. As we talked about earlier, mutations are a special thing. While they can be as fantastic as weathered wings or glowing body parts, they can be as mundane as a set or bi-colored eyes, a naturally docked tail or even a really long and flowing tail. We want to know anything abnormal about your character that might pass down to future generations. Keep in mind that the overall size of your character is NOT a mutation nd should not be listed here.
004 | Your height and weight is dictated by your species. If you don't remember what that happened to be, check here.
005 | Any special marks are scars, deformities and other things that are not markings or mutations. Please keep in mind deformities if there are any and list them. Disabilities can be anything from poor sight and things of that nature, to mental disabilities and physical illnesses. These too, are important to note.
BIO SECTION THREE
001 | Your personality is all about you. remember when you filled out the moral alignment, because that a direct effect over your personality. If as you write, you find you're straying a bit from the alignment, just don't forget to go back when you're done and make sure that that alignment still fits your character. If you don't fit exactly, don't worry. Not everyone does.
BIO SECTION FOUR
001 | Your history is yet again, something we can't really tell you what to do with because it's a very personal thing. The only ting we ask, is to please stay away from scenarios of "everyone got slaughtered" because we see too much of it. Please be a little creative on this front. The other thing to remember is that any character under a year of age would die without someone looking after them and any character under 6 months would have died without their mother or a surrogate mother. Remember, Most species reach maturity at 2 years old and horses do it at 3.
BIO SECTION FIVE
001 | You did it! Now the only thing left to do is to tell us a little about you. It's important to tell us who you are in the chatbox so we know who to pester in the box when we want to roleplay. The other important thing in this section is how you found out about us. It's super important to do this to help out the site, so we know what form of advertising is working so we can drag more awesome people like you in here.
AFTER THE BIO
001 | One you have had your character accepted, there are still a few things to do. One of the first things that you're going to want to do is reserve your name. You can do that at the Who Plays Who.
002 | The other thing to decide is if you want your character in a tribe or staying a loner (you're automatically put in loner when you're accepted). To look at the existing tribes, check out here. If you want to be in a tribe, contact the person who owns it. The owner will get in touch with staff and get you added to the roster. The other thing to do is create your own tribe. While there are usually requirements (of posts and other things), occasionally there will be a promotion, so take a look at the Creating a Tribe thread.
