Lyrics: Nothing to Lose by Billy Talent
My parents. Where have they gone? Is Cataleena with them? What happened to Tempest? Why did she leave that night? Was she taken? Is she okay? Have they forgotten me already? Already.. it's been two years Castiel. Get it through your head that they've moved on, they don't care. They're probably all dead anyways. Oh, don't think like that you stupid fool. That's your family you're talking about. Family? Family! What sort of loving family up and leaves their son? What kind of family does disappears after the loss of one daughter, just takes off without a word? Some family. My family. That's why I'm like this, it's all their fault. That's why I'm such a loner, so alone. It's them, not me. I didn't do this to myself. No, they did. Screw them. Forget them. Their worthless.. but they are my family.[/color][/blockquote]
A branch about as big around as his leg creaked under his weight, and Castiel snapped out of his inner thoughts immediately. When had he entered a forest? Huh, showed how much he'd paid attention in the last hour or so. Parting his black lips, the silver and white wolf allowed the scents of this forest to flood into his mouth, tickle of roof of it, and travel up into his nostrils. Hmm, something was strange about this place for sure. Taking another few steps forward, the big male tilted his head and flicked his golden eyes to the right. Drinking in more scents, he managed a small smile. Ah, so that was it. This forest was inhabited by many small creatures, the prey was flourishing here. Not only that, but he had passed clan borders several meters ago. Oops. He picked his trotting pace back up, this time denying his jumbled thoughts of his past access, focusing on what was going on around him. If there was a structured clan around here.. who was it lead by? More often than not, the gender of the leader was detectable just through a scent.
Following his nose as well as his instincts, Castiel traveled slightly deeper into the forest, switching his direction to the left. His golden eyes flashed with excitement. Would the clan be mushy or hardened? Were there foxes? Oh, he just loved foxes. Great companions, those guys were. But horses? He stopped dead in his tracks. Those beasts were not his cup of tea. Looking around, he began a walking pace again, keeping his jaws parted slightly to help him find the way. It was nearly as if an invisible string was tugging him along, closing in on the animal he was hoping to find. He couldn't remember why he had been on such a long walk to begin with, but right now he was tired, hungry, and in need of some actual companionship. Perhaps this clan would let him stay for a few days. Ah, a female. Her scent was the strongest, definitely a female with a certain kind of impact on these lands. Be she good or bad, that couldn't be told just from her distinct smell.
Planting his paws, Castiel fell back onto his haunches, gray tail covering his big front paws. He let his furry head fall back, closing his eyes. The sun glittered off of the left side of his face, throwing the purple and blue dots into a yellow haze. With a long sigh and a deep breath, the male released a sad song. It was beautiful, as all wolf songs are, and twisted into it was the song of his sad past, his hopeful future, and the fact that he just needed someone to talk to right now, as well as a sense of belonging, if only for a few days. It was a how that only a wolf would understand, and it was a wolf he was hoping to meet. Not just any wolf though, the wolf, the female who claimed these lands as her own.
